Only one operative has been awarded 16 purple hearts, and only one guy is man enough to still sport a mullet. His methods may be unorthodox. His crime scenes may get messy. But if you want the world saved right, you call in MacGruber.

Some types of movies just aren’t for everyone. There are a certain type of movie out there that, for better or for worse, requires you to just turn your brain off and take it for what it is. MacGruber is one of those movies and while I can enjoy a good time and some senseless fun in front of the TV from time to time, I just don’t think this one does much for me. It isn’t the acting, because for what the roles are everyone here does fine in them. It even isn’t the plot as much because you get pretty much what you would expect here in this. I think at the end of the day while I can see what they are going for here it just do much for me because I find it to be a bit too silly. Maybe even too silly for it’s own good.

But that isn’t knocking this release from Mill Creek by any means. They give us a good solid looking Blu-ray here and I think that’s all anyone can ask for in the days of 4K. The biggest sin anyone having anything to do with this release commits is not at least having the old drunken commentary from the old release of the movie. This disc doesn’t have an extra to be found and that’s a shame, but if you are just here for the movie you can at least find that and it will at least look nice. But you have to have a taste for the more wacky side of action movies to enjoy this.
