Sexy action superstar Kevin Sorbo slams evil as Kull, The Conqueror, a fearless barbarian warrior, who through skill and bravery, becomes king. Worshiped by the beautiful fortuneteller Zerata for his valour, Kull quickly becomes the mortal enemy of the f-rces of darkness, led by villainous Akivasha. With optional English SDH subtitles for the main feature.

Well, we are a long way from Conan here which is something considering that this was (all according to Wiki) originally intended to be the third Conan film, Conan the Conqueror. The protagonist was changed due to Arnold Schwarzenegger’s refusal to reprise his role as Conan and Sorbo’s reluctance to redo a character already played. What we have hereby all means feels a bit tame when you compare them to other “sword and sorcery” style movies, but at least it does pack a hot Tia Carrere and you just can’t get anymore 90’s than her and Kevin Sorbo if you really take a moment and think about it. You certainly get a movie here but it’s one that is by the book with only a few cool spots in it. I’ve never really been that big a fan of Sorbo and it is possible that he is why I’m not a bigger fan of this one. But if you just like watching movies that were originally supposed to be something else, then you might find more of a use of this one.

Now I don’t have the older Universal release of this movie on Blu-ray, but I feel like this one probably does very little to improve upon that as it seems like Mill Creek just takes what was given to them and reuses it. It’s possible this was cleaned up a bit from how the old one was supposed to have looked, but it still doesn’t look that great to me, if I am to be perfectly honest with you. This just wasn’t for me overall I don’t think. I’m not a big fan of the movie and the movie doesn’t look that great. If you like the retro slipcases you at least get that here and that might be all some of you need.
